110th Anniversary of Fairmont Copley Plaza

Fairmont Copley Plaza opened its doors to guests for the first time 110 years ago on August 8, 1912, and quickly became the hub of Boston’s social and political life, business tycoons and special occasions of all types. Kings and princes have stayed at the hotel, along with countless presidents, royalty and Hollywood elite over the years, and our gilded ballrooms have been featured in many major films and series such as “Julia,” “Little Women,” “American Hustle,” and “Bride Wars.”

As one newspaper wrote in 1912: “The opening presented to Boston one of the most colorful and brilliant pictures the city has ever seen. It marked a new era in hotel-keeping, not only in Boston but in the entire country.”

OAK’S THROWBACK BIRTHDAY MENU

Starting Monday, August 8th through Monday, August 22nd, 2022 only, OAK Long Bar + Kitchen will serve a four-course “throwback” dinner menu honoring both the past and present, for $110 per person. Executive Chef Zaid Khan presents dishes that were served on our menus in the early to mid-1900s with his contemporary flair.

Guests will feast on modern versions of classic eats from the past like Waldorf salad and angel food cake (click to view menu). Plus, martini specials. Don’t miss out on this truly historic dining experience! Dinner Reservations highly recommended through Monday, August 22.
